Who we are
Charades Belize is operated by Idea Solutions. This policy explains how the mobile game and its website handle information. For privacy questions or deletion requests, contact admin@charadesbz.com.
No player sign-up required
You do not need to provide a name, email address or password to play. The app uses a generated installation identifier and anonymous technical authentication for cloud features. This identifier can link activity from the same installation; it is not a public player profile.
Information on your device
Game settings, favorites, saved decks, team names and game history are stored locally. Creating a custom deck does not automatically upload its title or cards. Saved decks work offline. Clearing app data or uninstalling generally removes local information, although device backups may retain copies.
Usage statistics
Usage statistics are enabled by default. We record installation first opens, active days, app version, iOS or Android platform, decks played, game modes, round outcomes and counts of actions such as creating, sharing, downloading or favoriting decks. These records use the installation identifier. Custom deck names, card text, team names, email addresses and advertising identifiers are excluded from usage statistics. We use these statistics to understand which features and decks people enjoy and improve the game. Turn off Share usage statistics in Settings and save to stop future collection and discard queued statistics. Records already sent remain stored until removed.
Optional notifications
Notifications are off until you enable them and allow device permission. To deliver them, we store a messaging token, installation identifier, platform, app version, notification preferences and a generated test-device code. Tapping a notification may record which notification was opened and when, linked to the installation identifier. You can disable notifications or individual categories in Settings (changes save automatically), or change device notification permissions. Disabling notifications stops future sends once the change reaches our service; it does not automatically erase existing records. Notification delivery uses Apple or Google messaging services.
Sharing decks and reporting content
If you choose to share a custom deck, its title and cards are uploaded with its deck identifier and an anonymous owner identifier. Anyone with the sharing code can download the deck and may pass the code on. Do not include private or sensitive information in shared decks. Content reports send the deck identifier, report text and technical installation identifier to the administrators for review. Deleting a local deck does not necessarily remove its uploaded copy or copies downloaded by others. Contact us with the sharing code if you want an uploaded deck removed.
Camera and motion controls
Camera access is used when you choose to scan a deck QR code. Camera images are processed for scanning on the device and are not uploaded by the app. Motion sensors are used locally for tilt controls; raw sensor readings are not uploaded. You can use touch controls instead and deny camera permission.
Service providers and access
We use Google-operated authentication, database, cloud processing and messaging infrastructure to support these features, and Apple services for iOS notification delivery. Service providers process information to operate their services. Authorized dashboard team members can access content, reports and usage records; notification sending is restricted to authorized publishers. We do not sell player information or use it for targeted advertising. Information may be processed outside your country. Network requests may expose technical information such as an IP address to the service receiving them. We may disclose information when required by law.
Website
The website presents game information and download links. Its current design does not include advertising trackers or visitor analytics. Your browser sends ordinary request information to the web host, which may keep access or security logs. Following an app-store link opens a service with its own privacy practices.
Storage, security and deletion
The app uses encrypted HTTPS connections and access controls for cloud data. Local queued usage records are limited to 90 days and 1,000 rounds; this limit is not a deletion schedule for server records. Cloud usage, notification and shared-content records currently have no automatic expiry and remain until removed through administration. To request access or deletion, email admin@charadesbz.com. Include a shared-deck code or notification test-device code if available, but do not send passwords or sensitive information. We may need additional information to locate records associated with an installation. Uninstalling alone does not delete server records. No system can guarantee absolute security.
Children and changes
The game does not ask players for their age or collect a child's name or contact details during gameplay. Avoid including children's personal information in shared decks or reports. A parent or guardian may contact us about information they believe a child submitted. We may update this policy as the game changes and will publish the revised policy with a new update date.
